The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, His Excellency Mr. Nicolas Maduro Moros has written to newly elected Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda the Hon. Gaston Browne following his party’s overwhelming victory at the polls on June 12.
The Venezuelan President congratulated Prime Minister Browne for his party’s excellent showing at the polls and pledged to develop the relations that exist between both countries. He also congratulated the people of Antigua and Barbuda for a peaceful and successful electoral process.
We reproduce below the full text of the message sent to Prime Minister Browne from the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela His Excellency Mr. Nicholas Maduro Moros.
“The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Bolivarian Government and the Venezuelan people, extends greetings to the people of Antigua and Barbuda and his most sincere congratulations for the successful electoral process developed in this country, as well as, for the enormous civic behavior showed by the Antiguan people, last Thursday, 12 of June, 2014.
In the same way, we extend our warmest congratulations to the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party and its distinguished leader Gaston Browne for the support received from the Antiguan people.
The Bolivarian Government reiterates its commitment with the Caribbean and expresses its will to continue working together with Antigua and Barbuda for the wellbeing of our peoples and in favor of the rights of the workers in the framework of the Cooperation Agreements of PETROCARIBE, the integration in the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), as well as, in the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), for the consolidation of the Great Homeland.
In this new political era, we make vows to strengthen more the historical links of friendship and cooperation between our two sister nations.
On wishing you all the success in the continuation of your endeavor, which will bring new challenges, we reiterate the disposition of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to work in favor of the development, the peace, the cooperation and the defense of an international order just and multipolar.”
